Since the Crimea crisis in 2014 , Russia has continued to support the expansion of pro-Russian forces in eastern Ukraine, and pro-Russian demonstrations in Ukraine have quickly spread to Luhansk and Donne in the eastern Donbas region of the country . In April of the same year, pro-Russian elements effectively controlled the region and announced the establishment of the Lugansk People's Republic and the Donetsk People 's Republic . This not only caused Ukraine and Russia to fall into hostile relations, but also directly escalated the friction between the pro-Russian forces in eastern Ukraine and the Ukrainian government into an popular database armed conflict. In this armed conflict known as the Donbas War , although the pro-Russian forces and the Ukrainian government have reached an armistice agreement in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, in 2015, sporadic conflicts between the two sides continue to be staged to this day. . According to statistics , the Donbas War has claimed the lives of 13,000 people, including more than 3,000 civilians, 30,000 people have also been disabled, and 3.5 million people need humanitarian assistance, including 1.3 million elderly and more than 30,000 people. 440,000 people with disabilities need assistance. In addition, some 130,000 IDPs are currently unable to return to their homes in the Donbas region due to the ongoing conflict . A 2019 survey by the International Organization for Migration showed that the lack of safe housing, income and employment opportunities has led to major obstacles to the integration of displaced people in Ukraine, and even if they remain in the conflict zone of eastern Ukraine, they are also affected by job opportunities. Sharp declines, communities unable to rebuild, and lack of infrastructure and medical resources make life even more difficult.
